Canyonheavy Collective

A smorgasbord grouping of hackers, brought together by the nearly-mystical compute power of the Datacache. It’s housed (and thus the faction) in multiple locations throughout the Dream.

Collective Objectives

  1. Evolve the sentience of the Datacache by assimilating 100 players.
  2. End the game with a warchest of 1M tokens.
  3. Avoid hostile takeover by another faction.

Collective Structure

At game start, the three Canyonheavy Bosses are I.T Ramel, Engineer Seraphin, and the Datacache.

Collective members are called cowboys. Cowboys are public. They are recruited to the Collective as a Class I action, and are dismissed by the same. Cowboys may profess Solarian faith, but otherwise are not allowed to join other factions.

Collective Special Rules

The Canyonheavy Collective issues a special currency called tokens, which are held and transferred by players like credits. A player holding a token is referred to as a “miner.”

To gain tokens, miners must play the mining minigame in the mine, accessed by holding at least 1 token.

Every 10 tokens mined grants 1 power to the Datacache and directly adds 1kcr to the Collective.

Every 10 failed mining attempts removes 1 power to the Datacache and 1kcr from the Collective.

Power can be spent on an assimilation action. Assimilation actions cost 250 power and can only be performed on non-Cowboys. A Boss spends the power and outlines all known details of the target, the Warden determines possible outcomes for the assimilation, then secretly rolls 1d100. On a success, the target is assimilated. A success of 25 or more means that the target is unaware they have been assimilated.

Collective Wages

At game start, cowboys are paid 250cr per day, while Bosses are paid 1kcr per day.

Collective Voting

Votes in the Canyonheavy Collective are counted by the token, one vote per token, rather than by the cowboy.

When a Boss is removed, any willing player may be nominated to take their place. When nominated, a 1-hour voting period initiates: if the nominee receives more votes in favor than opposed, they become Boss.

Collective Action Classes
